Blog Assignment #18 by Nanako Suzuki

There are many manners in Japan. For example, we say “itadakimasu”, before we eat something, and after we finish eating, we say “gotisousamadeshita”. These are greeting of the meal in Japan. Also we hold a dish when we eat something. It is a good manner in Japan so Japanese manner is sometimes different from other countries.
Manner is important so we have to learn about the minimum manners. If you don’t know about any manners, the people around you feel uncomfortable, and they will think you are rude person. So manner is important for your life. However, I don’t know about the all manners of Japan, and I think we don’t have to lean about the all manners of Japan. The reason is because we don’t use the all manner in our usual life. More than it, paying attention to others and having a kind heart are important things. So I want to learn about these skill.

  1. Manners are differ depending on cultures. I think it is important to learn what is good and what is bad in each culture. For example, holding a dish is considered as a bad manner in other countries, such as Korea. I agree with you. You don't need to follow all small manners, but behaving in a reasonable way is important!
