Polite is so important in our culture. It
is because, I think it shows respect to someone. If you don’t have polite, you
looks not good person from other people in Japan. Also you lose your credit sometimes. For
example, when we were children, my parents said “You have to greet to somebody.”
to us. Also when eat meal, we always say “Itadakimasu” and “Gochisousama” before
and after the meal in Japan. It shows appreciation for the food and I think it
is a Japanese big polite. When I am walking the street, a car stop for me. Then
I say “Thank you” or bow to the driver. I think when I say “Thank you” to the
driver, who isn’t might able to hear my voice. However I just do it. If you bow
to the driver, it shows “Thank you.” This time I looked back polite of Japan
and I understand that there are a lot of polite and manners in Japan.
I think so! It's very important for Japanese to have feeling to respect.
ReplyDeleteI agree that politeness is considered very important in Japanese society. As you mentioned, it is unique culture to say something before and after the meal. There's not same word in English. I heard that Native Americans do the same thing. I believe some of Japanese culture are related to the appreciation for the nature.
