We go to Willowbrook Retirement Center twice
a week, Wednesday and Thursday. In Retirement Center, there are a lot of old
people. Every time we teach them about Japan. Last week, we taught Origami.
They can’t hear our voice clearly. I have to speak loud voice and slowly. It was
difficult for me to speak it carefully. I can’t explain how to make Origami
well but I felt they tried to make it perfectly. And I wrote their name in
Japanese. I thought I want them to know about Japan more. Today, we also went
to there. We did Fukuwarai. Actually I did Fukuwarai first time. I thought it
is not fun for them. But they were like fun. And we were fun. And my group did American
card games. Skip-Bo was fun but difficult for me. One more group did Kendama. I
think it was good time. Tomorrow, I will introduce about myself front of everyone.
I hope I want to good speech.
I think teaching gives us an opportunity to relearn our own culture. I've never tried the card game. Why did you think the game was difficult? I hope your speech will be successful!
